Kisan Basti On the bank of river Yamuna near ISBT flyover opposite kashmere gate Shastri Park. Approximately 5000 residents, families of rickshaw pullers, farmers and daily wage labourers live. Sir Syyed Educational Social Welfare Society provides the only source of education to students that do not attend formal schools and the Tuition Centre provides much needed tuition to enable students to cope in Government schools as the community is mostly illiterate and their parents are unable to assist with their homework. This basti is one of the most backward unauthorized Slum areas of north-east Delhi. The living conditions of the citizens here is very critical, construction is not allow here, we can say they are being born in a very difficult environment. They are highly disappointmented and the same has Desperate heart. The thinking of people is that their miserable condition is only God’s will, but they are not aware that if efforts are made then these people can also live a dignified life. Even after being extremely dazzling in the city of Delhi, it is an anonymous settlement which is still in the darkness. It is our responsibility to light the life of this community. organisation running a street school in the Kisan Basti and providing formal education to 100+ boys and girls.
